Karin Van Beeck

Disciplines: Fine Art, Sculpture & Paper-Mache Art

Exhibiting & Local Artist

Karin Van Beeck is a Belgian artist of great individuality, rooted in her talent for sharp, objective observation. She previously gained recognition for state-of-the-art Pop Art creations laced with a touch of black humor—until a personal life challenge temporarily diverted her path and paused her creative expression.

Relocating to Cómpeta reignited her artistic spark through the village's lightness of being. Moving beyond traditional painting and photography, Karin has reinvented her practice into a brand-new genre: handcrafted paper-mache sculpture made entirely from recycled egg cartons. Through an intricate manufacturing process, she magically transforms humble grey mash into witty, classy, and feather-light art objects.
